Which finance companies sponsor visas in Montana?
First Interstate Bank, headquartered in Billings, is Montana's largest visa sponsor in finance, particularly for risk management and commercial lending roles. Stockman Bank and other regional institutions sponsor for specialized positions like agricultural finance analysts and energy project managers. Credit unions such as Montana Federal Credit Union occasionally sponsor for senior financial analyst and compliance positions.
How to find finance visa sponsorship jobs in Montana?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for finance positions in Montana that offer visa sponsorship. Focus on regional banks in Billings and Missoula, agricultural lending institutions, and energy finance roles tied to Montana's oil and coal industries. Many positions require experience in agricultural commodities or energy project financing unique to the state's economy.
Which visa types are most common for finance roles in Montana?
H-1B visas dominate for specialized finance positions like financial analysts, risk managers, and compliance officers at regional banks. TN visas are common for Canadian professionals in agricultural finance roles. L-1 visas apply when national banks transfer managers to Montana branches, while E-3 visas serve Australian professionals in energy project financing.
Which cities in Montana have the most finance sponsorship jobs?
Billings leads with major employers like First Interstate Bank and regional energy companies offering finance roles. Missoula follows with positions at community banks and credit unions. Bozeman has growing opportunities in agricultural finance and fintech startups. Helena offers limited positions primarily in state government financial oversight and regional banking.
What prevailing wages apply to finance jobs in Montana?
Montana finance positions typically follow Level II prevailing wages due to the specialized nature of agricultural and energy finance. Regional banks often justify higher wage levels for roles requiring knowledge of commodity markets and energy project financing. Rural locations may qualify for alternative wage surveys when standard metropolitan statistical area data doesn't apply.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance jobs in Montana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
